Polydor serie POJL

In the mid-90s, the Polydor K.K. (a Japanese subsidiary of the Polygram group and holder of the Decca rights on Japanese territory), given the success of the Super Analogue series printed by King record, decided to propose a similar initiative, only for the Japanese market and with a limited number of 2000 copies per title. The aim of this series was to obtain the highest possible reproduction quality. To achieve this, for the analog sources, those titles were chosen that guaranteed perfect conservation of the master tapes at Decca, it was decided to do the cutting at the Decca studios with Japanese supervision and finally to print on 180 gram vinyl at the Pallas plants in Germany, always under Japanese supervision. In essence, the initiative for this operation was Japanese, the outlet market was Japanese and consequently the entire production process had to be supervised to correspond to Japanese standards. This series will have only 22 titles from POJL 9001 to POJL 9022, the first 10 come from Decca master tapes recorded in the 50s/60s (but the records are 12 because there is the Verdi Otello/Karajan/Del Monaco/Tebaldi box set with three records). The other 12 are of digital origin, never printed on vinyl.
