The Stereo Lab 33RPM series was born in 1975 and precedes the Super Analogue series, anticipating its main features: cutting and pressing in Japan, a 300 watt tube amplifier that drives the Neumann SX74 cutter-head, Half-speed mastering, no limiters and the choice, not always fulfilled, not to print sides with times longer than 15 minutes. The main differences are the weight of the disc which remains around 140g while in the Super Analogue series it is around 180g and the use of Neumann VMS80 system for Super Analogue. The fact of not having sides with a duration longer than 15 minutes imposes three types of choices: 1) Use of more sides, please see examples below 2) Reduction of the musical program, please see examples below 3) a repertoire with characteristics already suitable as regards the duration

Decca SXL6796 has side one 26:40 long, side two 21:52. Stereo Lab GXG9003 has side one 17:21 long, side two 14:06, side three 17:12


Decca SXL has side one 22:52 long, side two 26:58 Stereo Lab GXG9005 has side one 22:52 long, side two 14:26, side three 12:32
