Bach cello suites Columbia :

Janos Starker recorded at Abbey Road Studio No. 3 the Bach Cello Suite No. 2 on 20 March 1957 and Suite No. 5 on 29/30 August . These monaural recordings were released in 1958 on the monaural disc 33CX1515 ( XAX 1308-2N and XAX 1309-1N ) Suites No. 1 and No. 3 were recorded on 22/23 May 1958 and released in 1959 on the monaural disc 33CX1656 ( XAX 1545-1N and XAX 1546-3N) Suite No. 6 was recorded on 31 January/1 February and No. 4 on 9/10 June 1959 and the monaural disc 33CX1745 was released in 1961 ( XAX 1711-1N and XAX 1712-1N ). Of these last two suites, a stereophonic recording was also made at the same time which, in the Western world, will be published only in 2020 under the supervision of Warner, which has become the rights holder. In Japan, however, the stereophonic version was published in 1963 by Toshiba EMI on antistatic red vinyl with the catalog number AA7018 (YAX 340-2 and YAX 341-2)

They were recorded in New York at Ballroom Studio A by producer Harold Lawrence and sound engineer Robert Eberenz. Suite 2 and Suite 5 in April 1963, Suite 1 and Suite 6 in September, Suite 3 and Suite 4 in December 1963
